lately I'm not writing so much on the blog. I'm sorry, but I'm kind of busy with university, projects... I hope to do more in the next days.
Now let's focus on the post.
What is DIASPORA*?
What is DIASPORA*?
DIASPORA* is an open source social network or better is an open source personal web server that implements a distributed social networking service.
Now is available the alpha version of the platform. It's very "clean" and minimal: you can organize your contacts in groups (which DIASPORA* calls aspects), you can write on your wall and share images, you can check for updates of your contacts and add comments.

DIASPORA* is very concerned about security (all the data transactions are encrypted) and privacy (the user is the only owner of the pictures and of everything he share on DIASPORA*).
The novelty introduced by DIASPORA* is the possibility to create a decentralized alternative to present social networks, in fact each user could create his own server and share data with other servers.
You know, I'm not in love with social networks, but this new way of thinking and the little magic words "open source" won.
So I joined DIASPORA*.
"Live long and prosper".
